Default Ranger Skills:Poison Arrow and Beast Mastery Skills

Hello all,
First of all, something needs to be done about Poison Arrow(elite). I say they should at least make this skill do +damage and/or be unblockable.
What I really want to talk about is Beast Mastery. I sent this statement to PlayNc support.
"Ever since the overpowered Beast mastery skills were removed from Guild Wars in 2005 I believe Beast mastery has not been the same. I realize these skills were way too powerful but theres nothing left in Beast mastery. Some won't even consider being a Beast master because of the animal companion's attack skill delay. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any changes in Beast mastery for a while. So, I propose a buff for Beast mastery skills. Maybe some remodeling of the skills themselves is needed. Here are some suggestions I have. Also, I'm not saying to change these exact skills, but many people would look at Beast masters as serious players.

-Companionship: Reducing activation time to 1, less health gain.
-Poisonous Bite: Decreasing poison duration, adding "strike for +__ damage"
-Never Rampage Alone(I realize this isn't a Beast mastery skill but you need an animal companion for this to activate): making this cost less energy(20), possibly having +4 regeneration at rank 10
-Run as One: Increasing movement speed to 33%, Increasing recharge time
-Predatory Bond: Decreasing recharge time(20)
-Bestial Fury/Tiger's Fury: Remodeling this skill

With changes like these you will see more and more Rangers, and even some other classes, take on the challenge of becoming a great Beast master. Please consider how Beast mastery skills have been needing a buff. Thank you for your time."

They told me that I should post my ideas at a fan site of some sort, probably not bothering to read it(though they fixed Ilsundur within two days of me complaining). Does anyone have ideas on what changes need to be made in Beast Mastery???
Your thoughts would be highly appreciated,
Weareweare

the most important thing is to fix pet AI!!!
people give up on beast masters mainly because the pet has the dumbest AI ever!!!
make pets function like heroes, not the skill bar but the flags and aggressive/defensive/passive stances. that way true beast masters, not thumpers or spear chuckers that use a pet for extra dmg but a char dedicated to beast mastery, would finally be able do things...

Poison Arrow will always be bad, because Apply Poison merely exists and other ranger elites actually do something useful. PA wouldn't need a buff, it'd need a total overhaul to be something worth looking at.

As for pets, the problem lies in their AI - even with pet controls, pets are too stupid to be proper frontline damage-dealers like a Warr or Derv. As such, they will always be relegated to support DPS on a weapon-wielding ranger.

Buffing PA and pet skills won't suddenly make them useable. They need total overhauls first.

Poison Arrow should do +damage like Burning Arrow.
I say give PA +damage that scales similar to Burning Arrow if not slightly higher (given the attribute line that it's in), leave the energy cost at 5, and then obviously raise the recast a bit so you wouldn't be able to spam it on every arrow.
IMO, for PA to compete with Burning Arrow, it needs to be cheaper, have a quicker recast, and do equal or greater (probably greater) +damage than Burning Arrow. This is simply because burning is more powerful than poison, burning is less conditional than poison, and apply poison exists in the game.

As for beast masters, I agree with combining Charm and Comfort Animal. People have been asking for that for years now.

they should make pet skillbar like heros but every pet has 8 skill that come with it so they will have different classes 2 and then you can kinda help the ai problem

Charm Animal needs to also heal your pet, or at least rez it, before Beast Mastery will ever be seriously considered for high end builds. Combining Charm and Comfort, which has been a suggestion that's floated around for literally years, would be a possible solution.

Once that's fixed, it's really necessary to buff the pet AI so that pets more quickly reassign their priorities when the human player changes targets. In PvE, targets die too quickly for how long the pets take to refocus on new targets, and in PvP, targets are too well protted to not have quick target switching possible.

When these two things are fixed, Beast Mastery might be viable in the high end, at least as something that people could run for a less effecient, but more fun alternative.

Q-F-T. You don't even have to combine a pet heal with it, combine a running skill or ANYTHING. Personally, I think it would be best if it was combined with a res. Companionship is an amazing skill for beast masters (albeit either the cooldown or cast being too long), so I'm content with carrying it as a heal. I'm just tired of feeling like CA a wasted skill slot

I love playing BM in AB with a flatbow (silly eles never see it coming =P) but I agree, the pet AI is WAY too stupid. As for skills, there are some that are quite balanced (i.e. [skill]Feral Aggression[/skill] [skill]Call Of Protection[/skill] [skill]Otyugh's Cry[/skill] [skill]Enraged Lunge[/skill] [skill]Predator's Pounce[/skill]. But I agree, some need some tweaking. As for the AI,When I change targets, it shouldn't take my pet 10 seconds to realize it unless I keep his menu open to retarget manually
